Blantyre-based Mada Ngoleka (born Madalitso Ngoleka on 09 June 1995) is a Malawian gospel singer, songwriter and guitarist signed to Nde’feyo Gospel (a sub-label under Nde’feyo Entertainment).
Mada was born in Malawi and at the age of eight went to the United Kingdom, where she was exposed to the indie genre of music. Her music life started at Brampton Manor in London where she was doing her A-Levels, music being one of her subjects and the guitar her best instrument. The passion grew at the Springs of Life International Church in Essex, where her mother was a pastor.
Different styles of music as well as a strong presence in the church, helped shape Mada as a singer as well as a person. The guitarist gem returned to her motherland in July, 2011 and has been performing at various shows as a curtain-raiser, among them the E-Wallet Talent Show eviction, Zahara Malawi Concert in Blantyre and Da’ T.R.U.T.H. Malawi Concert Blantyre.
Commentators have described her music as “refreshing” and “truly international”. On the local scene, Mada admires Grace Chinga and the Ndirande Anglican Voices. She was signed to Nde’feyo Gospel in November, 2012 and is expected to cut her debut album under the label in 2013.
