Pop icon talks about his faith in an interview with Billboard
In an interview with Billboard, Justin Bieber opened up about his personal faith and his new found dedication to be open about it.
The pop singer shared "I just wanna honestly live like Jesus. Not be Jesus -- I could never -- I don't want that to come across weird. He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind. If you believe it, he died for our sins."
The interview is one of several statements and actions this year from Justin Bieber that display a renewed interest in Christianity. Bieber is an outspoken fan of Hillsong's ministry, even attending the Hillsong conference earlier this year.
Bieber also shared with Billboard about his at times challenging relationship with the church. "I think that going to church is fellowship, it's relationship, it's what we're here on the earth to do... Like I said, you don't need to go to church to be a Christian. If you go to Taco Bell, that doesn't make you a taco."
Bieber rose to fame as a child pop star, quickly becoming known for a troubled transition into adulthood. After some time spent refocusing his life, he recently released single "What Do You Mean," displaying a new, matured sound.
