Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund in the final of 2016 DFB Poland and completed yet another league/cup domestic double. Both teams pretty much cancel each other out for best part of 120 minutes play as game went to Penalties where Bayern Munich scored four penalties compared to Dortmund’s three.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Sven Bender missed their consecutive penalties and Douglas Costa scored the decisive penalty to win the cup for Bayern and Pep Guardiola see off his tenure with his fourth trophy.

Dortmund has not beaten Bayern Munich in the last four league games and they suffered a massive 5-1 defeat earlier in the season at Allianz Arena. However Dortmund will take belief from their last season’s German cup win in the semifinals against Bayern. Dortmund has improved alot during the 2015-16 season as they started slow but finished the season in respectable second place behind Bayern.
