UEFA Euro 2016: Opening Ceremony & Music Concert Details


So this year’s mega international football tournament is upon us in France starting this weekend on Friday, 10th June 2016 with the lavish opening ceremony set to take place before the first fixture between hosts France and Romania. UEFA Euro is the biggest football international tournament, only behind FIFA World Cup in status and France has outlined a lavish plan of organizing a superb opening ceremony gig with “David Guetta” performing in the 20 minute ceremony. We take a look how the tournament is shaping up and what is in-store for opening ceremony and pre-tournament concert set to take place 1 night before the big event.

So it will all begin on the eve of opening day fixture, the night before there will be a massive concert in Paris at the Eiffel Tower on Thursday, 09 June 2016. There will be stars like Will I Am, Enrique Iglesias, Ariana Grande and of course David Guetta performing all night long. The concert is set to begin at 09:00 pm CET. The tournament itself will begin on Friday night, 10 June 2016 with the lavish opening ceremony with over 800 performers putting on a show at the Stade de France in Paris.

Theme & Performers: David Guetta will headline in the opening ceremony show and he will perform on his Euro 2016 official theme song called “This One’s For You”. while another 600 volunteers from as many as 60 countries will put on a show representing the rich-french history.

Where to watch it: Viewers in the UK can tune in on ITV1 coverage which will start 30 minutes before the opening ceremony and they will be broadcasting it live in the UK on ITV 1 (terrestrial channel).
