Italian Serie A 2016-17 season will be starting on the last weekend of August 2016 (confirmed by Serie A officials) and the fixture list has been announced today, 22nd July 2016. Serie A season will begin on 27-28 August 2016 and it will be ending on the weekend of 20-21 May 2017. Coppa italia final will take place on Sunday, 28 May 2017. There will be 5 midweek match days and 3 weeks of christmas break from 24 december 2016 to first week of January 2017.

Last season 2015-16, Italian Serie A started 1 week before the usual end of August date due to Euro 2016 taking place this summer and Italia FA decided to end the season earlier to make sure Italian national team get enough time to prepare for the big event. This season however since there are no international events in 2017, Serie A season will start on its usual dates of last weekend in August 2016 and will be finishing on Sunday, 21 May 2017.
