Sam Allardyce says he is "profoundly frustrated" to have left his role as England Football manager after only 67 days.

It came after a newspaper reported he had offered guidance on the best way to "get around" player transfer rules.

Allardyce made a "wholehearted apology" and said he recognised some of his remarks had "brought on humiliation".

The FA called his behavior unseemly and said his agreement was finished by shared understanding. Gareth Southgate will be in control for four England matches.

'Amazing privilege'

Allardyce was shot by undercover reporters from the Daily Telegraph, who acted like specialists for a meeting in which he purportedly said it was "not an issue" to sidestep rules on third-party player possession, and asserted he knew of operators who were "doing it constantly".

It was likewise guaranteed that a £400,000 arrangement was struck for him to speak to the organization to Far East investors and to be a keynote speaker at occasions.

Allardyce likewise alluded to his predecessor Roy Hodgson as "Woy", ridiculing his way of talking, and criticised Gary Neville, one of Hodgson's assistants.

Further points of interest of the Telegraph's far reaching examination are distributed in Wednesday's edition of the paper - including a case that eight past and present Premier League managers have been blamed for accepting illegal payments for transfers.

Five of the un-named eight have denied the allegations while three are yet to remark, the paper says.

In an announcement on the Football Association site, Allardyce said it had been "a great honour" to be delegated England manager and that he was "deeply disappointed at this outcome".

"In spite of the fact that it was clarified amid the recorded discussions that any proposed game plans would require the FA's full endorsement, I recognise I made some comments which have caused embarrassment," he said.

"As part of the meeting, I was asked to clarify what I said and the context in which the conversations took place. I have co-operated fully in this regard.

"I also regret my comments with regard to other individuals."

'Tough decision'

FA CEO Martin Glenn said Allardyce was "distraught" to have left his role.

"He recognises that he made a terrible error of judgement," he said.

"Sam understands why the FA has had to take this tough decision."

The FA said it would start its quest for another England manager while Southgate assumes responsibility for the World Cup qualifiers against Malta, Slovenia and Scotland plus a friendly with Spain.

Allardyce succeeded Hodgson in July taking after England's shocking performance at Euro 2016 in France.

After only one match in charge - a 1-0 win over Slovakia in England's opening World Cup 2018 qualifier - he becomes the national side's shortest-serving full-time manager.
