Tyson Fury has claimed his re-match with Wladimir Klitschko is set to be rescheduled for October 29.

The WBO and WBA heavyweight champion was previously in line to make the first defence of his titles on Saturday at the Manchester Arena, until an ankle injury forced the fight's postponement.

Shortly after that development, the Sunday Mirror reported he was the subject of a doping investigation - an allegation Fury denied in a statement. The boxer also went to England's Euro 2016 matches in France after the fight was postponed.

October had long been discussed as a potential new date, and posting a picture in which the 27-year-old looked - by his standards - to be in impressive condition, he wrote on
Twitter:

"Sixteen weeks Saturday 'till I blast Klitschko spark out. #Andstill! Can't wait #manchesteroctober29 letshaveit."

Fury secured one of the finest wins by a British fighter when, in November 2015 in Dusseldorf, he unexpectedly outboxed Klitschko to earn a unanimous decision victory and his WBA, WBO and IBF titles.

The defeat was Klitschko's first for 11 years.

Fury, however, was stripped of the IBF title within two weeks for agreeing to a re-match instead of facing the IBF's mandatory challenger Vyacheslav Glazkov.
