What you can find out in "Pop culture warned us about Donald Trump"

Pop culture has many things in common with Donald Trump and it is more obvious these days when Trump has an opportunity to become a president of the USA. He is a man with a story that has to be told. These stories where he is a main character are sometimes provoking and more than anything else, true. Authors Sam Reisman and Eric Kleefled have created this kind of true approach to the man who changed the history of American elections. A change for the better? Not sure. Most people believe he is one of the worst choices that voters can make. The book called "Pop culture warned us about Donald Trump" offers a reason why so many people have this kind of opinion.

What connects Freddy Krueger to Donald Trump? Similar approach to the "victims" and similar way of speech. Both characters (yes, Trump could be a character in some scary movie) are careless and totally cruel when they decide to get something they want. Nancy Thompson might be Lindsey Graham and all those female victims of Krueger might be replaced by other republicans on Trump's journey. Moreover, all of them showed resistance, but it was not enough to escape their hands. Graham, Rubio and Bush tried to make a difference and win, but the strength of Trump's words was more powerful. He managed to destroy their striving for candidacy even without scary gloves with blades. Some provocative statements were quite enough.

Authors of the Trump book made a parallel between this "superhero" and other pop culture protagonists. Comical approach was taken in the story about The Penguin from '60s. When The Penguin talks to Robin, he mentions "Batman's babble" that has similarity to Hillary Clinton. At the same time, both The Penguin and Trump are comically presented in the eyes of people who follow their life. This happened to Trump in reality. Trump's followers see him as a funny man who is entertaining and interesting. But is he capable enough to be a successful leader of the entire nation? Being entertaining is good for a reality show, but a president should have some other skills.

One thing is certain. Trump is someone who created the pop culture and it was after pop culture created him. Firstly, entertaining industry made him more popular than any other businessman in the world. After that, he started to write the history on his own. His speech was aggressive, his actions were scandalous and his name became the part of pop culture.

It was his own way and it was quite unique. "Pop culture warned us about Donald Trump" and this title is so true. We learned from pop characters that people love them when they make something outstanding. Some of them are comical, some are deadly dangerous. When all of them are combined in the character of one man, then things get a different meaning. Pop culture heroes are interesting when they are fictional and remain part of entertaining industry. Once they attempt to control the real life, the situation requires a deep observation.
