Da' T.R.U.T.H. and BrvndonP's new albums share top 10 on iTunes

Two new Christian hip-hop LP's appeared in the top 10 of iTunes' top-selling hip-hop/rap albums chart today. 

Da' T.R.U.T.H. released his eighth studio album It's Complicated, and BrvndonP (formerly known as Black Knight) dropped his first project under his new stage name.

As of 12 p.m. ET on Friday, It's Complicated sat as high as No. 7 andBrvndonP as high as No. 10 on the chart.

BrvndonP actually features Da' T.R.U.T.H., as well as Lecrae, E-40, Swoope, Christon Gray, John Givez, Beleaf and more. It's Complicateddoesn't have as many features, but they're still impressive in Christon Gray, KB, Natalie Sims and Dr. Ravi Zacharias, a famed Christian apologist whose interview with Da' T.R.U.T.H. is sampled throughout the album.

Da' T.R.U.T.H. has premiered the second single from his upcoming album, It's Complicated, on Rapzilla today, the Courtney Orlando-produced "Misconceptions". 

"Have you ever wondered how a loving God could send people to hell?" a press release read. "Is hell a real place or just something Christians use to scare people into believing? Da' T.R.U.T.H., with the help of Ravi Zacharias, tackles these questions on 'Misconceptions'."

“I feel like I started writing this album 15 years ago,” Da’ T.R.U.T.H. said. “I honestly think it’s 15-20 years worth of events because the truth of the matter is that I have personally gone through very difficult bouts with doubts on my Christian journey. Even as Da’ T.RU.T.H. I’ve had moments where I struggled with doubts. Thankfully, I came out on the other side with a greater understanding, but going through those difficult seasons of doubt is not easy.”

Da' T.R.U.T.H. changes when his new album will drop

Da' T.R.U.T.H., who had previously planned to drop his eighth studio album, It's Complicated, on May 13, announced on Thursday that he had pushed back its release date. 

It's Complicated is now scheduled to come out on June 3. Pre-order the LP on iTunes.

Da Truth Explains Tweets with Theologian Ravi Zacharias, Reveals Lyrics to New Single

Single "Religion" teases highly anticipated album 'It's Complicated' set to drop this spring

Grammy nominated hip hop artist Da' Truth shared a cryptic exchange with internationally respected Christian Apologist and author Dr. Ravi Zacharias via Twitter last week, and it triggered a worldwide response. With questions surrounding the idea of truth, God and religion, thousands of listeners from NGEN radio and Jam The Hype shared their concern for the outspoken artist wondering if he was questioning his faith. In reality it was revealed that Da' Truth wasn't confused about his Christian beliefs, but he and Zacharias were sharing lyrics from his new single "Religion." 

In support of the new single, available nationwide starting today via TruthOnDuty.com and iTunes platform on all digital platforms, the music veteran has debuted the official music video on his website Truthonduty.com. The song features a real-life discussion between the multi-faceted artist and Zacharias about the complexities of religion, the theme of the new album.

"Yes, I wanted to reveal my single, but more than that, I wanted to share REAL thoughts and concerns that I have struggled with throughout my life," explains Da' Truth. "Is there one true religion? Is it arrogant to be exclusive? Can we be certain that Christianity is the only religion that God acknowledges as true? Many people, Christians included, struggle with these questions, and I want them to know they aren't alone. Through this song and my entire album, I want to provide a soundtrack that articulates some of the internal twist and turns that people experience concerning exclusivity in religion and ultimately start a discussion among each other and together we can resolve the one that has to be true."

Being brought up in a Christian household, Da' Truth went through a period in which he began to question God and the idea of religion. While he arrived at the conclusion that there is only one true God, he knows that others face the same questions everyday, but may not feel comfortable addressing them.

"The popular aphorism that 'All religions are fundamentally the same and only superficially different' simply is not true, yet this idea continues to be advanced in society. In reality, all religions are, at best, superficially similar but fundamentally different," explained Zacharias. 

This topic and the new track are teasing fans of what to expect off of his highly anticipated new album It's Complicated, set to release this spring.

Da' T.R.U.T.H. Reveals 'It's Complicated' Cover & Tracklisting

Christian emcee, Da' T.R.U.T.H., is gearing up for the release of his new album, It's Complicated, and tonight revealed the cover image, tracklisting, and conversation with Dr. Ravi Zacharias. 

The upcoming album will tackle the rapper's battle with keeping the faith as he asks and looks to answer some of the toughest questions a Christian will face. 

In promotion of the album, T.R.U.T.H., went back and forth with Dr. Zacharias on Twitter. He would pose a poignant question and the theologian would respond back. The conversation can be seen on Twitter, and also, a track of an actual discussion between the two was just released on his site. It can be purchased in his online store here. 

Aside from revealing the album cover, he released the tracklisting. The names suggest the topics discussed in the songs.

NEWS: Da' T.R.U.T.H. reveals new album title

On social media this weekend, Da' T.R.U.T.H. announced plans to release his eighth studio album. 

The Christian hip-hop pioneer revealed on Instagram that the album will be titled It's Complicated. His previous LP, Heartbeat, debuted at No. 84 on the Billboard 200, as well as No. 2 among Gospel Albums and No. 8 among Rap Albums.

Here is what T.R.U.T.H had to say - "What's going on everybody, today is my first day back to social media in about five months. I will explain why I chose to step away in greater detail later but I basically did it to recalibrate, refocus and put all of my attention on the new album that I've been working on called It's complicated!! I am definitely refreshed, refocused and ready to reengage!!! We got a lot of catching up to do!!"
