eleventyseven Announces New Podcast and Album (Pop punk group plans reunion three years after disbanding)

Following a countdown and teasers over the past week, eleventyseven has announced plans for a new album and a new podcast.

The band launched eleventysevenisalive.com at the beginning of the week with a mysterious countdown to Friday, November 25, quickly building fan anticipation. This morning brought the official news that they would be creating a podcast titled eleventylife as well as planning to release a new album. The announcement was made through a video created by members Matt Langston, Davey Davenport and Jonathan Stephens.

The podcast eleventylife was created by Matt and Davey to give fans a glimpse into the band's history, their experiences in the music industry and the things that eventually led to eleventyseven's disbandment. The first episode is live now, and you can download it by clicking here.

In addition to the new podcast, the band has begun work on their fifth full length studio album. The project is already close to done, with Matt Langston sharing "we are literally weeks away from being completely done with it." The album is planned to be 10 - 12 songs long, scheduled to release in the Spring of 2017. Eleventyseven will be releasing the project through Rock Candy Recordings, the company through which Matt Langston released his latest album Bang & Whimper for his electropop side project The Jellyrox.

Eleventyseven Is Alive. Band launches mysterious website and countdown

After two years of radio silence, electronic pop-punk band eleventyseven has made contact. While the group hasn't released new music for several years and officially disbanded in 2014, eleventyseven recently updated their website with a countdown to this Friday and the title "eleventyseven is alive," as well as updating their cover photo on social media. 

The band hadn't been active since they quietly released a slew of EPs back in 2012/2013, including a Christmas EP and a hymns EP. The band hasn't had a full-length album since 2011's Sugarfist. Whether these new developments will turn out to be new music, a tour, a cruise (in the footsteps of dc Talk), or something else entirely remains to be seen, but the band is poised to drop the news later this week. 

Lead singer Matt Langston has stayed busy apart from eleventyseven, fronting side project The Jellyrox and also recently joining Five Irony Frenzy members in the supergroup The Fast Feeling. What this news could mean for these side projects, and consequently what limits these side projects could place on this potential "comeback," will likely become clear in the coming days. Regardless of what the news is, fans of the band have an additional reason to be thankful this week.

eleventyseven built a loyal following throughout the underground of the Christian music scene during the mid-to-late 2000s. Their electronic brand of pop punk produced some hits such as "Myspace," "It's Beautiful," "Love in Your Arms" and "Trying." The band also released several themed EPs as previously mentioned, along with a cover of the classic Aha hit "Take On Me."
