Story: The City Harmonic Provides Resources to Bring Unity to Churches Everywhere

New album We Are releases September 4; new
community events launch September 11

When the steel industry abandoned Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the city's churches united under the banner TrueCity to help revitalize a dying community. Four worship leaders from separate churches at the forefront of this movement, Elias Dummer (lead vocals, keys), Eric Fusilier (bass), Josh Vanderlaan (drums) and Aaron Powell (guitars), joined forces to become The City Harmonic , a reflection of Jeremiah 29:7's command to "seek the peace of the city."

This raucous, award-winning band has since seen the power of unity first-hand in Hamilton and internationally. Launching their "Manifesto" anthem in 2010 that quickly became a rallying cry for believers around the world, the band is now leading a new charge, using recorded music, community events, a documentary and the internet's global reach to bring unity to a divided world beginning with the Church. "Do you want less division and more unity?" asks The City Harmonic members as they invite the Church to participate in a worldwide unity movement.

"There is good news: we are one in Christ! And we, the Church, have a job to do as His body. We truly believe--and have seen first- hand--that communities can change for good as we work together in unity like a family. It's a small step with an enormous impact. It starts with us." Giving more than "lip service" to this dream, The City Harmonic is providing resources to churches, beginning with the creation of a documentary that details the story of the unity movement in their hometown. The piece includes interviews with local church and city leaders about the process and model they followed while also sharing the amazing transformations that occurred amidst a unified Christian response.

Watch "We Are The City Harmonic "  Movie Trailer below

The documentary is available for viewing at www.WeAreTheCityHarmonic.com where visitors can also share their own unity stories to encourage one another. In addition, the band hits the road this fall for "We Are" events that bring together local churches for a time  of worship, prayer and fellowship as the band encourages cities to unite to serve their communities.

These events include "We Are Gulf Shores" (AL), "We Are Jackson" (MS), "We Are Lodi" (CA) and "We Are Las Vegas" (NV), with 18 events currently planned and more being added weekly. (An updated schedule with event details can be found at www.WeAreTheCityHarmonic.com .) While on the road, The City Harmonic will share songs, including radio single "We Are One," from their new album, WE ARE, which releases September 4 through Integrity Music and is available for pre-order now at iTunes .

The band will also be joined at each "We Are" event by their label mate, Travis Ryan, co-writer of the Newsboys' No. 1 hit "We Believe" and worship pastor for LifePoint Church in Smyrna, TN. "We've seen first-hand how powerful it is when the Church works in unity," says Elias Dummer. "Christ changes us every day and Christ is changing our hometown... if we can somehow inspire the Church around the world to do the same... that's more than we could ever have hoped or imagined."

Story: ‘No Matter The Heartache, God’s Got Us’, Marvin Sapp Speaks on New Album ‘You Shall Live’

GRAMMY® nominated, 22-time Stellar Award-winning recording artist, author and pastor Marvin Sapp released his highly anticipated new project, YOU SHALL LIVE on RCA Inspiration on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. YOU SHALL LIVE marks Sapp’s 10th solo album and features 11 heartfelt and uplifting gospel tracks. The album’s first single “Yes You Can” features production from Aaron Lindsey and is quickly making its way to the top of the gospel charts.

YOU SHALL LIVE takes listeners on a rewarding musical journey punctuated by life-sustaining hymns of praise and promise. Impassioned, emboldened but most of all unbroken, Marvin Sapp delivers an exceedingly intimate disc in a nod to his deliverance.

“I was in a very transparent space when I recorded this album,” recounts Marvin Sapp. “I wanted to deliver something that was going to encourage those who are in the valleys of their lives, to let them know I get it. I know what it feels like to have your heart ripped out of your chest. But, I also needed them to know that no matter the heartbreak, God’s got us and even the most painful experience can be overcome.”

Reveiws: Abigail Duhon: Purposeful Pop

Abigail Duhon is a teenager with a passion to follow God's calling on her life through art, specifically her EDM-flavored pop tunes. Even at a young age, Abigail's mission is already established: "I want to reach my age group with the message of Christ."

Her More Than Gold EP gives audiences an initial taste of how she plans to do that. The EP features two versions of her latest single "Dance Up," a club-ready track featuring fellow freshman artist Spencer Kane's slick vocals. This song would be right at home with its top 40 counterparts, and although the lyrics are focused on dancing and having a good time, they remain clean and positive.

"Give Me More" is another pop track that focuses on a desire to avoid settling for temporary pleasures, looking instead for purpose founded in eternity. The message is a particularly relevant one for teenagers and young adults navigating the dizzying array of choices the world presents. "More Than Gold" is a beautiful piano-centric ballad that assures listeners who may be struggling with their sense of worth "you are worth more than gold / a beautiful story waiting to be told."

Closing Thoughts:

Abigail Duhon has a voice reminiscent of the tones of pop peers Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. Given time and the steady snowballing of word-of-mouth recommendations, she could easily hold her own in the pop radio format-- breathing a much needed sense of integrity and greater purpose into that musical setting. Her sound is still in the process of being polished, and a few of the tracks feel a little unfinished, like they could benefit from more developed instrumentation. Abigail is definitely on the right track however, and you can expect to be seeing more from her in the years to come.

Story: Pastor Charles Jenkins’ Latest Release #War Is Currently #1 on Billboard Airplay Chart

Chicago, IL – After 45 weeks on Billboard Magazine’s Gospel Airplay chart, GRAMMY® Award-winning songwriter and Inspired People recording artist Pastor Charles Jenkins and Fellowship Chicago have captured the #1* slot on the survey with its rousing New Orleans Brass Band-flavored anthem #WAR.

“Wow! We could not be more grateful,” says Jenkins who performed the song this past weekend to a standing ovation on the “Bobby Jones Gospel” television program that will air this fall on BET.

“Nothing brings us more joy than hearing people sing #WAR as their personal fight song. There is so much going on in the world and real people are fighting real battles everywhere. The stories and testimonies we hear everyday say it all and in the words of the great Andrae Crouch: To God Be The Glory.”

The song was written by Pastor Jenkins and co-produced by he and Rodney East who has collaborated with the likes of R. Kelly, Jennifer Hudson, Tyrese and Charlie Wilson. “We are clear that #WAR is more than a song,” he adds. “Next month, my wife and I are excited to release a #WAR book and curriculum so friends can gather to study, pray, and fight to win in life together.

Special thanks to Tracey Artis – our radio promoter, our amazing team, radio programmers everywhere, our gospel music family, and everyone who prays for us. We love you.”

The shepherd for the 8,000-member Fellowship Chicago church, Pastor Jenkins burst into the national spotlight when he and the Fellowship Chicago choir’s radio debut “Awesome” topped Billboard Magazine’s Hot Gospel Songs chart for 22 weeks in 2012.

It won a BMI Award in 2014 for over 50,000-lifetime radio spins. The album “Best of Both Worlds” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Album sales chart, garnered 5 Stellar Awards, multiple Dove Award nominations, appearance at Jay Z’s “Made In America” festival and more. Video: S.L.A.P. Battles Presents: Fatherhood vs. Deadbeat Dad (Omega Sparx vs. KamBINO)

Battle Rap meets Ministry? Bars and Punch Lines collide with Real Life Issues? Yes indeed. Welcome to SLAP, Showing Love Applying Pressure, the next evolution of battle rap. This is a concept battle rap league where MCs portray real life, hard-hitting issues through the medium of characterization.

And it doesn’t get much more real than the battle between Omega Sparx and KamBINO, playing Fatherhood vs. Deadbeat Dad aka “The Battle for the Next Generation”. On August 14, 2015, these two lyrical giants traded punches, schemes, concepts, and BARS as part of the “Bars Over Bridges” card in Pittsburgh, PA. This battle did not disappoint. Both brought the lyricism, creativity, and delivery they are known for in a heartfelt battle based around an issue that is near to both of their hearts.

"We (SLAP) are trailblazing a new era in Battle Rap and this battle proved that we are touching lives and healing hearts with our subject matters. Shout to KamBINO that played his role in excellence and craftiness. Together we painted a powerful picture" said Omega Sparx, who played the role of Fatherhood in the battle.

KamBINO recapped the battle and also shared a positive encounter from after it. “Most memorable moment for me came AFTER the battle was over and I had a conversation with the pastor of the church hosting the event. I thanked him for having the event and said it was dope that he "gets it". He looked me in the eyes and said "No. I was behind Evan (3PFD) and kind of understood, but after watching your battle - NOW I get it. The way you guys painted a picture, I said to myself afterwards, this is the modern-day pulpit. It was powerful.” I'm happy to have played my part and that O brought heat to melt hearts and faces. Fatherhood is a subject very near to my heart and I believe near to the Father's as well. I hope He uses it to plant, water, uproot and ultimately bring change. That's what it's all about.”

Celebrating The 20th Anniversary of Bryan Andrew Wilson’s Legendary Rendition “His Eye Is On The Sparrow

This week CBN News spotlights Dove and Stellar Award nominated singer/songwriter Bryan Andrew Wilson on the 20th anniversary of his now legendary rendition of “His Eye is on the Sparrow” with The Mississippi Children’s Choir when he was ten years old.

Online videos of the performance have over 2.5 million combined views and fans of the song still approach the now 30-year old singer.

“It’s amazing how many people still remember that song,” Wilson laughs. “It’s been really wild having people I respect like Anthony Brown, Willie Moore Jr., Torrence Glenn from BET and even Coko from SWV tell me they used to watch that video. It’s really humbling.”

The full Bryan Andrew Wilson interview with CBN News anchorman Efrem Graham can be viewed at http://smarturl.it/72a09i In the interview, Wilson talks about his career ups and downs as well as comeback last year with the Top Ten hit “Turning Away” from his Stellar Award nominated album “The One Percent.” That project also produced Wilson’s current mid-tempo Top 40 radio single “Show Me Your Glory” that is moving up the airplay chart.

A lot of exciting things are happening in Wilson’s life these days. Last week he was featured on the syndicated radio program “The Nightly Spirit with Willie Moore Jr.” and three weeks ago he taped a riveting performance of “Turning Away” for the upcoming 35th and final season of BET’s “Bobby Jones Gospel” program that will air this fall.

In September, Wilson, who has been pastoring a church in Washington, D.C. for two years, will open a House of United Believers Church in his hometown of Danville, IL and he will serve as its senior pastor.
