Kanye West meets with Trump

Rapper/producer/fashion designer/self-proclaimed 2020 presidential candidate Kanye West was a surprise arrival at Trump Tower on Tuesday morning.

West, 39, was with an entourage, though wife Kim Kardashian was not present.

A short time after West disappeared into an elevator, Trump and West walked out together, with West saying he just wanted to "get a picture."

"We're just good friends, talked about life,"Trump said.

The outspoken musical dynamo may appear to be an odd site at the home and office of a Republican president-elect, especially after he famously blurted out “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” following the Hurricane Katrina disaster and subsequent government response.

But West has been complimentary of Trump, telling fans during a recent concert “If I would’ve voted, I would’ve voted Trump.”

West’s in-law, Caitlyn Jenner, is also one of Trump’s more prominent celebrity supporters.

West first announced his intention to run for the presidency during a rambling 2015 MTV Video Music Awards monologue. But he expanded on the idea during an August 2016 interview with the BBC.

“When I talked about the idea of being president, I’m not saying I have any political views,” West said. “I don’t have view on politics.I just have a view on humanity, on people, on the truth. If there is anything that I can do with my time and my day, to somehow make a difference while I’m alive, I’m going to try to do it.”
