Inhabitants and reporters in the second city, Bouake of Ivory Coast, described calm in the city - days after troops quickly seized the defence minister.
The rebellion had spread from that point to different urban communities, including the business center point, Abidjan, however that city, as well, is presently quiet.
An arrangement was struck between the mutinous soldiers and the government on Saturday, though details are scant.
According to a journalist for AFP news in Bouake said on Sunday that there had been no firing there since Saturday evening.
"Activity has continued at the beginning of Sunday and the shops have reopened."
President Alassane Ouattara went on national television on Saturday night to declare an arrangement.
"I confirm that I have agreed to take into account the demands of the soldiers over bonuses and better working conditions," he said. At the same time he criticised the rebellion.
Beside better pay, the agreement is reported to include an amnesty for the mutineers.
