VIDEO: Andy Mineo - Desperados (Live)

Andy Mineo released a live performance video for the standout track, "Desperados", from his latest album Uncomfortable. The visual was filmed during the second wave of his album promotional tour and features animation by Kyle Dettman. 

"Desperados", featured on the same album as the Dove Award-winning title track, is produced by !llmind and features Mali Music.

Andy recently announced that he will be going on a 46 city-wide tour beginning next year.

Andy Mineo Going on 46 City Tour

Christian rapper Andy Mineo has been announced as one of the headliners for the Winter Jam 2017 Tour Spectacular. 

Mineo will be on the entire run of the tour, which begins in Charleston, WV on January 6, and will conclude April 2 in Tulsa, OK. 

His labelmates, KB & Tedashii, will be providing the hip-hop for the fall leg of the tour, while Steven Malcolm will be doing both tours. 

The Uncomfortable emcee will be joining some of the biggest names in Christian music, touring with the likes of Crowder, Britt Nicole, Tenth Avenue North, Colton Dixon, Thousand Foot Krutch, and tour founders, Newsong.

Andy Mineo Opens for Atlantic Records' Fetty Wap. Mineo illuminates the mainstream spotlight for an evening

On October 23, Andy Mineo will be one of the opening acts for 2016 Billboard Music's Top New Artist winner, Fetty Wap. Andy will join other known popular acts Monty, Lil' Skies and DJ RL at Shippensburg University located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. 

Andy is no stranger teaming with mainstream acts to establish new relationships and share the light of Christ. His 2015 Uncomfortable album featured Jon Bellion and production from !llMind. Also, label mate Lecrae has collaborated with E-40 and a variety of other mainstream artists like B.O.B. bridging important gaps in the hip-hop genre collectively.

Mineo kicks off his Friends & Family Tour shortly after this event on October 27 in Atlanta, Georgia. Similar to his latest release "Who Else", nobody knows who we may see featured with Andy Mineo's crisp and smooth lyrical flow.

Andy Mineo releases three new songs and tour info

Andy Mineo of Reach Records has been "cooking in the lab," musically, for the past month. He has released three singles with "Candy Rain" on Aug. 26, "The Upside Down" on Sept. 9, and his most recent, "Who Else," featuring Social Club Misfits. 

Andy announced the Friends & Family Tour featuring Social Club Rebels on Sept. 15 with its first tour date coming on Oct. 27. Likewise, he dropped a video of the profoundly individual track "Hear My Heart" on Sept. 19 from his second full length release, Uncomfortable. 

"Who Else" previews the upcoming tour and showcases the talents of all three emcees, and may urge fans to ask for an compilation EP or full-length project between them. We last heard Mineo work some serious bars with Marty and Fern on the "No Love" remix and "Coogi Sweater" not too long ago. 

Could all of this movement preview the next full-length release from Andy Mineo? Time will tell as fans have a buffet of material to feast on while the anticipation builds.

Andy Mineo's Deaf Sister Responds to 'Hear My Heart' Video

Andy Mineo as of late released a music video for his song "Hear My Heart," which is devoted to his sister Grace and features sign language and visual music signs. 

Recently, on Instagram he posted her reaction after she viewed the video for the first time.

VIDEO: Andy Mineo - Hear My Heart

On Monday, during the International Week of the Deaf, Reach Records released this music video, which Kyle Dettman directed.

"This song is made for [Grace]," Mineo said. "Really, it's just an honest record, essentially apologizing to her for having never learned sign language growing up. ... As I started thinking about it the older I got, I was like, 'How selfish and how self-centered that was of me to never take the time out to learn sign language for my sister.'"

The song, titled "The Upside Down", was produced by Medina, who also produced another one of the only tracks that Mineo has dropped since his album Uncomfortable, "I Can't Wait".

Andy Mineo is marking a couple of high-profile anniversaries in his life these days. 

In addition to marking one year since the release of his latest project, Uncomfortable, on Sept. 18, Mineo is celebrating a much bigger milestone: his wedding anniversary, and doing so the best way he knows how: with music.

Andy and his wife, Christina, hit two years of wedded bliss on Aug. 23, and to mark the occasion, Andy released a new track called "Candy Rain," devoted to his bride. Production on the track featured a couple of other hip-hop pioneers, Wit and 42 North. Alex Medina, designer and music producer for Reach Records, even dropped a new apparel design for the occasion, which you can find on Andy Mineo's website.

Andy Mineo, Trip Lee & more to appear at Legacy 2016

Many familiar faces — including Andy Mineo, Trip Lee, Thabiti Anyabwile, Jackie Hill Perry, Propaganda and Thi'sl — will minister at the 10th anniversary of Legacy Conference this summer in Chicago. 

Legacy has begun registration and revealed artists, pastors and other guests who will serve at the annual conference, which will run from July 21-23. The theme of this year's event is Missio Dei.

"What have we been called to pour our lives out for?" Legacy's official website reads. "What is our mission? Furthermore, how do we do that in increasingly challenging environments? Missio Dei is Latin for 'The mission of God.' We, the people of God, have been called to be on the mission of God in making disciples of all nations. Legacy Conference 2016 seeks to equip Christian leaders in the urban context to do just that."

Andy Mineo says Christian label harms more than it helps

Earlier in the month March there was a “Christians in the Arts” event at Columbia University, and emcee Andy Mineo was part of the panel that addressed the students. It was here that Mineo offered some more insight to his “Christian rap is corny” quote that stirred up controversy last year. 

“I was just saying Christian music has been corny,” said Mineo. He regretfully added that he offered no context to what he meant. “That was really arrogant and harmful and stupid of me. I remember getting a phone call from like Lecrae, ‘I’m just gonna cut to the chase, bad idea’.” 

“I got humbled pretty badly,” revealed Mineo. 

The rapper opened up about his struggle with arrogance and in that moment seemingly dissed all of Christian hip-hop. It was not his intention. He messed up by giving no affirmation or context of its helpfulness. 

He clarified what he meant by saying, “…My wife said it really well today, ‘Idealism is corny. Always keep it real.’ And that’s exactly the problem with most Christian music, or any music, idealism…” 

He continued, “The idea of clean, nice little bow on top packaged neatness is just lame to me because if anyone has lived life long enough they know life’s not super clean, and it’s messy, and it’s tricky and it’s uncomfortable, and it’s difficult and I think that’s the thing that people really look to the arts for, the ability to connect…the beauty of art is not the whole conversation, but the start of a conversation.” 

He feels a lot of time Christian artists feel like they have to put a “nice happy bow” on everything they create because if they don’t, everyone will say “they’re not Christians.” 

“I try to stay away from the label Christian artist, I just want to make great art because I don’t want it to hinder me as much as it’s benefiting me.” 

What he means by that, is sometimes the label of “Christian” will get someone dismissed before they even have a chance to open their mouth. He used Kirk Franklin as an example. Everyone knows Franklin is a gospel artist, so a non-Christian may never pop in his record even though the music is “dope.” 

He said saying that already puts something in someone’s head like Christian music is “for those people.” 

“Christians are like ‘yeah!’ and non-Christians are like, ‘Why would I want to listen to that?’ and that’s the whole point why I made the music, to have conversations with everyone, not just Christians,” Mineo said. 

Mineo believes art is great because it allows the artist to create things to convey emotions and passions in their own way. 

“Do you feel pressured to be just as good as your non-Christian peers, or because Christ informs your artistry, is there a higher standard?” was the next question directed at the panel. 

“I feel the pressure to be the best artist I can be, period,” said Mineo. “I’m not even looking at Christians versus non-Christians. I just want to be the best artist I can be.” 

He continued, “I think that is some of the problem, that divide of Christian artists versus non-Christian artists and there has been industries built around those things. Industries have been built around the divide, the sacred and secular divide.” 

With there being Christian Contemporary Music, Christian rap, Christian books, Christian paintings, and so on, there is this gap between the spiritual and non-spiritual that is still connected to a money-making industry. 

“It’s a double edge sword because one when you say Christian in front of whatever, it automatically gives a sense of security or safety for the other Christian to engage with and be like, ‘Oh, someone like me’. It helps Christians find other Christians, I guess. But the damage it does, I think, far surpasses the benefit of labeling something, quote on quote, Christian or not Christian. That’s been a debate for like 107 years.” 

The next question brought the panel to the topic of Christian voices being relevant. Mineo said often times Christians are dismissed because people assume you are anti-everything and can’t be rationalized with. 

“There’s a way of communicating Christian ideas in culture that are upstream from Christianity,” he said. “The Christian culture wants you to validate by saying it.” 

He explained that as meaning being a servant and showing your faith rather than just speaking it. The group agreed that being a Christian of action rather than being a Christian by word was more effective in reaching everyone.

Andy Mineo released the first music video for his newest album,Uncomfortable, on Thursday at 1:16 p.m. ET. 

The video is for track No. 3 of the LP, "Now I Know," which was created by Enigmatic. They also made Social Club's music video for its song"Bad Advice."

Mineo also chose to perform "Now I Know" on FOX 5 New York in October.

More Uncomfortable music videos should be on the way. Mineo said onSway in the Morning last August that he planned to release a music video for his single "Hear My Heart."

Andy Mineo's song 'Young' choreographed to by Ukraine-based dance team

All Stars Dance Centre, a dance center based in Kharkiv, Ukraine, released a video this week of a performance choreographed to "Young," track No. 5 of Formerly Known, a free album which Mineo released in Sept. 2011. 

Reach Records songs are choreographed by talented dance teams almost as often as the label puts out music videos nowadays. In 2015, videos of impressive dance routines to Trip Lee's "Lazarus" and"Manolo," Tedashii's "Be Me" and Mineo's "The Saints" were featured on Rapzilla.

This visual, choreographed by Russian dancer Anna Romanova, is the latest of the bunch.

Andy Mineo is writing his first book

Reach Records rapper Andy Mineo revealed in an advertisement for a Toshiba Radius 12 laptop that he's "working on a book right now." 

The ad had nothing to do with the book, so it gave no further details, but this may have been Mineo's first mention of the book in an interview.

Mineo, who released his latest album, Uncomfortable, in September, also mentioned that he plans on creating more than music in the future.

"Music is just one thing I do," he said, "but I see myself long-term telling stories through visuals and making movies and getting into short films and feature-length films."

Earlier this year, Mineo told Rapzilla that he wanted to film a movie about his friend Raymond Rivera, the founder of Grateful Apparel.

“This guy has so many stories that we need to make a movie about this guy’s life,” Mineo said. “That’s one of the things I want to see done before I’m done.”

Mineo's previous visual-storytelling resume includes three seasons of Saturday Morning Car-Tunez.

Lecrae, NF, Andy Mineo & KB named top Christian artists of 2015 by Billboard

Billboard has published its Year End 2015 charts, and several Christian rappers landed on multiple lists, including the top 50 Christian artists.

Three Reach Records rappers — Lecrae, Andy Mineo and KB — made the data-driven chart, as well as NF of Capitol CMG. They also charted among the top Christians albums, which are shown below.

In addition to the Christian charts, Lecrae found himself ranked No. 21 among top-selling rap albums, No. 10 among top-selling independent albums and No. 11 among top-selling independent artists thanks to his seventh studio album, Anomaly. This is the second straight year that the LP has landed him on these charts.

TOURS: Andy Mineo confirms Uncomfortable Tour, Pt. 2, shares dream collabs & more in Hot 97 interview

Andy Mineo shared some of his past and plans for the near future in a recent interview with Hot 97.

At the 12:48 mark in the video below, Megan Ryte asks what's next for Mineo, who said he will perform 20 dates next spring on Part 2 of the Uncomfortable Tour — after he takes the holidays off to make more music. Mineo added that he has "lots of plans on releasing a lot of music next year."

His list of dream collabs, which he explains 13:27 into the video, included Adele and Josh Garrels.

AWARDS: Andy Mineo’s ‘You Can’t Stop Me’ wins Short Form Video of the Year at 2015 Dove Awards

Andy Mineo’s “You Can’t Stop Me,” track No. 3 of his Jan. 2014 EP Never Land, has won another award.

On Tuesday evening, the Gospel Music Association named it Short Form Video of the Year at the 2015 Dove Awards.

Kyle Dettman served as director and producer of the music video. It earned the nod over NF’s “Wake Up,” Everfound’s “Take This City,” for KING & COUNTRY’s “Shoulders” and King’s Kalaidoscope’s “Dreams.”

STORY: Andy Mineo defeats Taylor Swift in Round 1 of ESPN tournament, faces Big Sean in Round 2

ESPN has squared off Andy Mineo's song "You Can't Stop Me" against Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" in its tournament for the MLB's best walk-up song. 

Mineo defeated Swift by a landslide on Wednesday to advance to the next round. Next, "You Can't Stop Me" will go toe-to-toe with Big Sean's "Blessings."

"You Can't Stop Me" vs. "Bad Blood" is a Day 1 first-round match-up. The winner of the 32-team tournament, which ESPN is calling the "Whammys," will be revealed on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball at 8 p.m. ET.

To vote, tweet the name of the song with the hashtag "#WalkupVote." Fans decide which song advances. As a No. 1 seed, Swift enters as a major favorite over Mineo, a No. 8 seed.

The MLB's Michael McKenry, Justin Maxwell and Logan Morrison were listed as players who use "You Can't Stop Me" as their walk-up song.
